If you’re looking for ideas to keep your kids entertained during this time, there are plenty of options to choose from.

Camping in your backyard:

Camping is a wonderful way to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature. But if you are not able to drive to a campground, camping in the backyard is the next best thing. Camping in your backyard with kids can be a fun and memorable experience for the whole family. Set up a tent and let the fun begin. If your backyard allows for a campfire or fire pit, that is an excellent way to feel more like you are really camping. Enjoy camping food like hot dogs and s’mores. And do not forget activities like flashlight tag, catching fire flies or singing or telling stories before bed. Backyard camping is a chance to make memories that will last a lifetime and create a love for camping and the outdoors in your children.

Being a Tourist in Your Own City:

Pretending you are a tourist in your own city or neighboring town can be a fun and exciting way to find new activities or places you have never been to before. Google your city and see what fun things outsiders would want to do in your town that you may not have had a chance to experience before. Zoos, museums, bowling alleys are all fun activities to enjoy with your kids. Spring break is the perfect time to visit places you have not had a chance to visit yet or return to your favorite places you may have forgotten about.

Whether it is outside sports games or indoor board games, setting up a family tournament is also a fun Spring Break idea. There are always classic tournaments like basketball, badminton, card games and Monopoly tournaments. But do not forget the more unique and fun tournaments you can have. Like fort building contests, putting together jigsaw puzzles or creating an obstacle course race.

Crafts:

Doing arts and crafts is a way to explore your children’s creative side and is a perfect Spring break activity. Having a coloring contest or painting a picture is always fun. Other unique ways enjoy time together doing crafts include making friendship bracelets, making slime, or building pipe cleaner animals. Making paperbag puppets and then having a puppet show keeps children entertained for hours. Having a costume contest uses kids imaginations and creativity to construct their best costumes.

Other Miscellaneous Activities:

Having a scavenger hunt in your home or in the neighborhood are always fun for all ages. Conducting a talent show will provide hours of fun as children come up with a great way to showcase a talent. Put the talent show on for your family or invite friends to come to enjoy the show.
